Mr. Charles Callahan,
Skagit State Bank, Burlington,Washington.
Dear Sir:-
Responding to your communication on behalf of Burlington, if the town agree by resolution of Councils to maintain a Free Public Library at a cost of not less than Five hundred dollars ($500) a year, and provides a suitable site for the bllding, Carnegie Corporstion of New York wil be glad to give Five thousand dollars ($5,000} to erect a Free Public Library bilding(sic) for Burlington, Washington.
It should be noted that the amount indicated is to cover the cost of the Library Bilding complete, redy for occupancy and for the purpose intended.
Before any expenditure on bilding or plans in incurd, the approval of proposed plans by Carnegie Corporation of New York should be secured, to obtain which pleas send sketch plans for inspection.
